A month ago the idea of featuring the beach-house look seemed futile with the prospect of another summer like last year, and best left to residents of Cape Cod and The Hamptons whose environment and guaranteed climate invented this style of home interior.

But now the cool, airy environment of the beach house look is appropriate and very welcome during these balmy days.

Cool blues, gleaming white paintwork and bleached floorboards will create a look to cool you down on a hot day. It can, however, seem to be one of those aspirational lifestyle looks that’s impossibly perfect for the average Joe, especially when your own beachside holiday reality is a caravan by the sea accessorised with seashells, wet towels and a film of sand on the floor.
