Abbeyside Tyre Centre, a prominent commercial property in the scenic harbour town of Dungarvan, is on the market for €950,000, following a decision by longtime owners the Foley family to retire from the business.

The substantial 0.34a dual-access site on Sexton St, in the heart of residential Abbeyside, is near the Waterford Greenway and holds potential fora residential, commercial or mixed-use development, subject to a planning grant, according to Brian Gleeson of Brian Gleeson Property.

The Foleys, who ran the tyre centre for more than 50 years, were granted planning for an ancillary building to house two diagnostic bays, a reception area and an office, but Mr Gleeson said “in reality, the true appeal of the offering lies in its broader development potential....in a magic location”.

Just minutes from Dungarvan town centre, the site is on a busy thoroughfare with a strong volume of passing traffic “and a constant stream of potential customers”, the agent said.

He added that a “standout feature” was its proximity to the renowned Waterford Greenway, a popular 46km scenic trail that attracts thousands of visitors to the area. “The greenway’s appeal as a major recreational destination enhances the footfall in the vicinity, presenting an excellent opportunity for a wide range of retail ventures,” Mr Gleeson said.
