Trading Up: Rosscarbery, West Cork, €495,000

Within a walk of a beach, and a walk of a well-served, friendly village which has lots of sports attractions, it’s little wonder that the Burgatia area of Rosscarbery carries a West Cork property price premium.

A west-facing slope of ground, overlooking the lagoon and the N71 causeway crossing, Burgatia is home to a couple of dozen primely-set homes, most of them now in full-time family occupation.

Now, one that was built 30 years ago, on a 0.4-acre elevated plot (above several others on the roadside and circuit walk of the lagoon and amenity area) is for sale, on the market with Andy Donoghue and John Hodnett, of Hodnett Forde. The price is €495,000, and it’s under offer.

Most of the daytime use rooms have unobstructed views over the lagoon to Rosscarbery, where there are bars and restaurants, and Warren Strand is a 15-minute stroll away.
