Looking out on to green fields at the side, the occupants of No 6 Beaumont Cottage might almost imagine they are living in the country.

Part of a small enclave of 1900s built workers’ cottages located off Temple Hill near Ballintemple, this house is prettily preserved and renovated and is quite an unusual find in this part of the city.

It’s one of just three detached cottage in a small enclave where homes usually pass from one family member to the next, says Anne O’Mahony of Sherry FitzGerald who is guiding it at €220,000.

Renovated and redecorated by its current owner, it has 869 sq ft of living space and is said to be in walk-in condition. Fitted with double gazed windows, it has a solid fuel stove and gas heating.

The stove is found in the front sitting room which is an attractive timber-floored room with a feature wall papered in red flowers. An archway leads though to a dining room which adjoins the kitchen which is fitted with shaker style cream units.

To the rear there’s a small unity room and a bathroom. Upstairs, the cottage has two bedrooms including one with an en suite.

Directly in front of the cottage there’s a prettily planted garden patch and at the rear. enclosed by a wall topped with timber railing, is a decked area with a shed and a flowerbed.

Given that this is a pretty cottage in a very popular location close to Ballintemple, Ms O’Mahony expects a big attendance at a second open viewing this morning.

Verdict: Very cute
