Five-bed Clonakilty townhouse has made a push for more space out the back, says Tommy Barker.

There’s more than first meets the eye on this hill-set townhouse, in the uphill heart of Clonakilty in West Cork.

Although modest and traditional to the street, the extended, now five-bed No 36 McCurtain Hill is a two minute walk from the centre of Clon, up from the upgraded pedestrian plaza at Astna Street, Ashe Street and Pearse Street, home in fine weather days to outdoor cafe society seating, sipping and supping, and a lively local and tourist buzz.
