Trading up: Ardfield, West Cork €120,000/€240,000

You could be run off your feet today if you go to view either of two sites, or a do-er upper bungalow, for sale in West Cork’s pretty and elevated coastal village of Ardfield.

Not only is Ardfield on the Wild Atlantic Way, it’s also on the full 26-mile marathon route of today’s annual Waterfront Marathon, one of three distance running routes (10k, half marathon and full grueller) around Clonakilty and its environs.

Only the hardier Waterfront full marathon runners make it out to Castlefreke and to the well-serviced and family friendly twin villages of Rathbarry and Ardfield. And, by the time they pass these properties today, they’ll be more than half way home in the long-distance race.
