Waterford’s Marina Hotel is up for sale
The 1998-developed, three-star Waterford Marina Hotel is by the River Suir 1.7km from the rail station and has been in the same ownership for 17 years.
The hotel has 81 bedrooms, riverside bar and restaurant, a theatre-style function room as well as on-site parking for 70 cars.
Christie + Co’s Dave Murray says it’s well-located and highly profitable, with high recommendation levels on booking.com, and should attract interest both from investors and from owner-operators.
The hotel’s launch comes after the January sale this year via Colliers International of the four-star Waterford Castle for over €6m, on 300 acres which included 43 luxury lodges, bought by an Australia-based Irish businiessman.
And, sold last summer in Waterford was the four-star 2006-built Fitzwilton Hotel, to an Austrian-based investor, fetching €3.2m after international and national interest.
The Fitzwilton was bought by Strategic Capital Investment, run by Davy in Ireland for Austria-based investor Thomas Roeggia who also bought the Aghadoe Heights Hotel in Killarney, off-market last summer for c €6.5 million via DTZ.
