At one stage in the 1970’s, it seemed that everyone wanted to live in a bungalow. One of the most famous books at the time Bungalow Bliss a pattern book for self-builders allowed the ordinary Joe Soap to build a home, cheaply and without the hoopla involved today.

The style became so popular that system-built bungalows like this one, at 13 Monacnappa, became big business and there’s a version currently available with local auctioneer, Humphrey Hogan.
