Trading up: Homes on the range at Reeks

Even when you get to the shores of super-scenic Lough Guitane south of Killarney, you won’t quite be home — you’ll have a mile and a half (2.4 kms) of track to drive first to get to your gate.

An avenue/ track is shared with a couple of other homeowners in this relatively remote spot of Kerry, under the Reeks and with a quiet, hilly back road to the main N22 Killarney-Cork road by Barraduff.

Joint agents Tom Spillane (Kerry) and Savills (Cork/Dublin) are selling this unfinished scheme by a local Killarney developer, where two 2,000 sq ft houses are 85% complete, all on 122 acres of land at Cappagh, about five miles from Killarney and Muckross.

Each house can be bought and used independently on a few acres each, but the expectation is that one buyer will take on the whole lot initially at least and complete them out. The 122 acres ranges from good grazing to inch land, deciduous tree cover and rocky outcrops.
