Lots to like for the money at Lissadell, a 1,350 sq ft three bed semi with converted garage, at Clashduv Estate on Cork City’s southside near UCC.

VERDICT: A good example of the type.
A four-bed, detached modern home, with three bathrooms, and a handy location, isn’t often affordable for first-time buyers but No 42, Alden Grove is, with a price of €199,000.
The 1,200 sq ft home, past Shamrock Lawn and near the south city ring road, is with agent Andrew Donoghue, of Casey and Kingston, who says the setting within the 1990s development is good, by a green in a cul de sac. At ground level are one of its four bedrooms, a reception room and a kitchen/diner.
VERDICT: Affordable Douglas detached.
