Go west and take your pick

End terrace or semi-d, two suburban homes have plenty to offer, writes Tommy Barker

Go west and take your pick

Out on Cork city’s western fringes, first-time buyers can get variations on a theme for their €220,000 budget. For the same sort of cash sum, auctioneers REA O’Donoghue Clarke have a four-bed end terrace home at 17 Eagle Valley, likely to be early 1990s in vintage and about 900 sq ft in size. Or, for those who want an older suburb, 8 Sandymount Avenue in Glasheen will just as handily fit the bill.

Eagle Valley just off Sarsfield’s Road will be the handier buy for some, as it’s more modern, has a ground-floor guest WC as well as a main upstairs bathroom which serves the four bedrooms, and has two reception rooms plus kitchen. Any changes needed will be along decorative lines, unless a new owner wants to extend, as 900 sq ft is not a lot of floor area for the number of rooms fitted in.
