€9m UL sports pavilion

UNIVERSITY of Limerick has just made a €9 million sporting crossing of the River Shannon, to bring its first sports amenities to its growing north campus. Next to join up on this side of the river will be the medical faculty building in the autumn.

€9m UL sports pavilion

But first out of the traps is the Pavilion, part of UL’s impressive University Arena, the country’s largest amalgam of sport facilities, including a 50m swimming, fitness and conditioning suites and more, many used by students in the Physical Education and Sports Science department.

Added to the ecumenical sporting mix (the Pavilion serves all team field sports, including GAA, soccer, rugby etc) is an events centre in the main building, catering for conference and events, sporting occasions, weddings and regular catering and Sunday lunches.
