Traditional renovated west Cork cottage backed by attractive veranda

ALTHOUGH its name now means my home in Aborigine, Wahroonga at Bridgetown in Skibbereen is still a very traditional west Cork cottage.

Renovated and renamed in the last three or four years by currents owners, it does have a newly added non-traditional feature, an attractive decked veranda at the rear.

Inside the single storey property has been nicely upgraded and includes a small tiled kitchen with country-style units and a Belfast sink, as well as two oak-floored living rooms with fireplaces.

Selling agents Charles McCarthy are seeking offers of in excess of €185,000. They say it’s in excellent repair and the privacy and proximity to town are key selling points.

Verdict: An attractive well cared for cottage which will appeal to a buyer looking for a traditional property with a large garden.
