IT’S amazing what you can get in a space with the right design — take this little scheme at Tower, near Blarney in Cork.

Ardán Cúil Fliuch is a niche development of just five houses tucked into the back gardens of a former council house at St Philomena’s terrace.

This little crescent has houses with about an acre of ground apiece, the initial idea being self-sufficiency, but now the last in the row is growing houses, instead of vegetables.
