Forest Hill is selling well

Astra’s Forest Hill development in Carrigaline, Co Cork, is attracting huge buyer interest.

ASTRA Construction is a firm that has been building houses in the Carrigaline area for the last 22 years and are continuing to do so.

Their long-sighted approach has been rare enough in Irish life and the company has brought it to bear, once again, on an attractive development just south of Carrigaline known as Forest Hill where three and four-bedroom semi-detached homes are for sale.

“There’s definitely a leaning towards the three-bedroom houses at the moment,” says sales director Eileen Crowley. “We have also sold some four-bed semis and four-bed detached in the last few months.”

Demand is strong for the development, of which over 100 units have sold in the last three years. Carrigaline enjoys the enviable role of commuter town to both Cork city and the heavy-industry hub of nearby Ringaskiddy. With such a network of clients close by, it’s not surprising that the appeal of Forest Hill is wide: “We’ve sold quite a few detached houses in the last few months,” says Eileen, although she notes that “there is definitely a leaning back towards the first-time buyers at the moment – that is definitely the one that the most activity is in at the moment.”

Astra have just recently opened a new 3-bedroom showhouse at Forest Hill. Viewings are going well, according to Eileen and it helps that they are always on site – something that greatly facilitates viewings.

The site is dominated by the Owenabue River and Estuary Walk and it’s a tranquil south-facing location that’s within a ten-minute walk of Carrigaline town centre. The commitment to quality is evident in the construction of the houses, as it is in the effort that has been put into the landscaping and layout of the site.

“They really are a very high-quality build,” she says. “What I say to anybody who rings up about them is that you’d have to come and see them to appreciate them.”

Asking prices are €220,000 for the three-bedroom houses and €300,000 for the four-bedroom variety. Figures like that alone make Forest Hill worth taking a look at.
