Room for expansion here
That probably has something to do with our less prosperous and more overcrowded past or, the fact that price levels are pitched on bedroom count.
Whatever the thinking, the builders of this stylish, three-bed bungalow near Lissarda, Co Cork, weren’t particularly bothered about bedroom numbers. Instead, they’ve allowed space in the attic for future extra rooms – about 650 square feet in all, says agent, Killian Lynch.
The rest of the house offers generously proportioned rooms spread over 1,850 square feet, which is quite luxurious.
The interior has a modern/country styling, in that there are exposed beams and quaint tiling with an aged wood kitchen and liberal use of pine in the joinery, but the big windows and the inclusion of a sun room make it a very modern take on an old theme.
The main living room is 18’ by 15’ and comes with vaulted ceiling, open fireplace and wooden flooring and it runs into the sun room, which is turn connects to the generous and bright, kitchen/ dining room.
The house is above average in style and design, and along with a site of a whopping two and a half acres is on offer at €310,000 through Killian Lynch Auctioneers.
It’s good value at that, but there is the small matter of a half hour’s commute to the city, but for those who live to drive, or those working in Macroom, or other areas of mid Cork, it’s a doddle.
Well worth a look.
