Ballincollig home in a new niche

A SIMPLE box ticking exercises of house buying types would categorise a three-bed semi-d as a house for first time buyers, with the trading up option as a four-bed detached. But, there’s also scope for four-bed semi-ds, and that’s the sort of buyer estate agent Dan Howard is finding at No 91 Old Court, in Cork’s Ballincollig.

Ballincollig home in a new niche

The O’Flynn Construction scheme, built on the former Murphy Barracks site in the rapidly up-graded town, has hundreds and hundreds of new apartments and houses built, and largely sold.

No 91 Old Court is an early resale, and those coming to look are “people who bought a three-bed semi here, and are coming back now saying they should have gone for a four-bed in the first place,” says the Dooley and Howard estate agent.

A great location off the Ballincollig bypass and four-bed accommodation makes the 1,250 sq ft (the three-beds were under 1,000 sq ft) No 91 Old Court attractive for trader-uppers/ first-time buyers at €330,000. Worth a look.
