Castle scheme Radharc’s well worth looking at

RADHARC AN CAISLEÁN does what it says on its sales spiel – it has views of the restored Barryscourt Castle from some of its 10 apartments.

An east Cork mixed use development by the McCarthy family, owners and operators of the local Costcutters supermarket, it got an open viewing launch this week where callers could get to see the size, design quality and finishes on offer in the fully-furnished units just offered for sale.

Carrigtwohill is set to get a new, long-awaited commuter rail link to the city this month – a move mooted back in the mid 1990s when it was still very much a village.

It has grown, and will continue to grow now with commuter status, and hoping to tap into an accommodation niche is John and Kay McCarthy’s scheme of contemporary-styled apartments over their completed retail and commercial units with Main Street access.

Prices aren’t as cheap as other recent Co Cork apartment scheme launches one-beds are priced at €249,000 but then again the developers say the units are large – at about 800 sq ft for a one-bed, and 900 to 1,250 sq ft for two-beds, and they are furnished for immediate occupation. Design is by Andrew Lane Architects, and joint selling agent are Hydes, and Property Partners Burke Wall.

Interior design is by Ann-Marie McCarthy, and fit-out included contemporary kitchens, solid oak doors and semi-solid oak flooring and CAT 5 cabling, with balconies opening up views of the 16th century castle.
