Seaview House is aptly named
The estate agents, Sherry FitzGerald O’Neill reckon that Seaview House has a 270 degree sweep of ocean and hillside views, from Galley Head and lighthouse off to the east, around through Rosscarbery and out to the south.
The setting is a mile from Glandore, uphill and inland a bit, while the well-known Drombeg Stone Circle is a nearby marker.
Several decades old, Seaview House carries a price guide of €1.3 million, and has been on the market during the quiet autumn and winter lull for its retired British owners who are now selling up, having enjoyed this house on two acres for a number of years. It may now find bidding interest approaching this €1.3m sum as the prospect of summer holidays beckon, says Martin O’Mahony of Sherry FitzGerald O’Neill’s Skibbereen office.
This very large, split-level bungalow, is now up to 4,500 sq ft and has some fine-sized rooms to make the most of the views and aspect.
They include a 33’ by 14’ at the lower level, which has a self-contained two-bedroomed guest suite at this level as well, and overhead are three bedrooms, two with en suites, a main family bathroom, a pretty spacious living room measuring 30’ by 16’, as well as a good-shaped kitchen.
Features include the sheer amount of space, the vista and big picture windows to frame it, the high ceilings and the two acres with sloping lawns, mature trees, pond, shrubs, and large double garage with viewing point up on top. This is complemented by other external areas, including a terrace off the conservatory.
Amenities nearby include all the outdoor attractions a family could want, along with good pubs and restaurants in Glandore and Union Hall, Rosscarbery is also close, the resurgent market town of Skibbereen is eight miles away and Cork city about an hour away.
