Kenmare views a bonus, but home needs renovation

LOCATION is always important when it comes to property, but sometimes it matters even more than usual. That is certainly true of this two-bedroom bungalow in Tahilla, Co Kerry, four miles from Sneem.

The 1,000 sq ft house is in tired decorative order, but the four-acre site on which it stands is top-notch, with spectacular views over Kenmare Bay and partly bounded by the Loch Dubh lake.

“The house needs to be renovated completely,” said Elaine Daly of selling agents Sherry FitzGerald Daly in Kenmare, “but there would be no hope of getting planning for a new house here now. There is enough room for the new owners to extend however they want. The house next door is two-storey, so there is no reason this could not be the same.”
