Spacious home, lovely grounds
The scheme of large homes, on large sites has been developed as a mix of one-off detacheds on an uphill, steeply banked site.
Some of the biggest and latter-built house are to the back, and you really appreciate having a car do the hard work to get to the top, even if Glenrichmond at Sallybrook is all within a walk of Glanmire village itself.
No 1 cuts out all of the hard work, being at the very bottom of the hill, and its two-thirds of an acre of grounds are also largely maintenance-free, as they are given over to banks of shale and planting to the front, and more dramatically to the back as well, with railway sleepers and sawn ESB poles used as steps and to retain sections and rockeries.
A four-bedroomed dormer with about 2,200 sq ft of space and with two en suites, it is in very fine condition, says locally-based estate agent Michael Burns. He seeks offers around €750,000.
“When Glenrichmond was originally conceived of seven years ago one of the planning conditions was that each house would have over 2,000 sq ft of living space and each site would have a minimum of half an acre. This has resulted in a spectacular mix of architecturally designed two-storey and dormer style properties,” he observes.
It has a hall, 17’ by 13’ living room with solid wood floor, marble fireplace and double doors to a 13’ by 12’ dining room, which has patio access.
There’s a family room/TV room, a kitchen with built-ins and lots of tiling, with a utility off, and a guest WC, along side a ground floor bedroom. The overhead landing space is big enough to hold a computer desk, and there are three bedrooms, two have en suite bathrooms, and one has a walk-in wardrobe. There’s access to floored attic/dormer storage space.
