Steel-framed house in Ardfield

A large back garden is a selling point of 30, Ardfield Crescent, a Fleming Construction scheme in the Cork suburb of Grange, on the edge of Douglas.

Ardfield was one of their first significant developments of steel-framed houses (the company are transporting almost-built apartments to Dublin from their expanding factory in Ringskiddy), and residents testify to the cosiness, with high insulation values.

A recent market arrival as a result of trading up by its owners, number 30 has an asking price of €380,000 with estate agent, Conor Smith, of ERA Downey McCarthy Murphy.

He says the unusually large, walled, private back garden, with rural views, will appeal to families with young children.

Accommodation includes a sitting room, family/dining room with arch to the kitchen, which has fitted beech units, a utility and guest WC, while, overhead, one of the three bedrooms is en suite, and the main bathroom is to the front. Heating is by gas, and, thanks to the form of building, energy bills are low.
