Size really does matter for stylish five-bed home in Glanmire

ONE of the biggest and also one of the best, No 1, The Pines is a house and one-bed apartment on highly landscaped grounds with nothing at all for one to do but to move on in.

So says Robert O’Keeffe of Irish and European estate agents in Cork of this 3,000 sq ft, five-bed family home, at Castlejane Woods in Glanmire.

At the entrance to the completed development, it is in a stretch of large one-offs, and was built about eight years ago by a couple with high standards and enough money to match when fitting out. Asking price now, as a result of the size and quality, is €1.25 million.

Thus, the extravagantly completed rear landscaping job, tiered with lots of stone, steps and pond with flowing water feature, as well as extensive decked area right across the back of the house: was there any place better than the great outdoors to eat in the past week?

The site is just shy of a third of an acre, and if you wanted something to do with it, perhaps the only quibble would be to lay a more finished drive.

In all its summer glory, it is a new market listing, with brochures just finalised, and Mr O’Keeffe predicts a strong viewing interest given its interior and exterior quality, noting that comparable house sites in the greater Glanmire area are now valued at €350,000 and over.

At present, No 1 is a five-bed home with one-bed apartment with its own separate access only: if a new owner wants to re-integrate the space, it means knocking a hole in a wall, most likely the dining room.
