Join the caravan co-op club for €295,000

THERE’S a good story behind the sale of this house in Goleen, Co Cork. The Dunes is a development of six houses built in a co-operative effort by an ad-hoc group.

Unusually, the builders/developers of this little enclave were once all owners of caravans on the dunes in Barleycove. When the opportunity to purchase land in the village arose, the caravan-owners clubbed together on the purchase price.

Now, one of these houses, number 5, is surplus to requirements and according to Eilís Cohalan of ERA Liam Hodnett, the phone hasn’t stopped ringing since it went on the market.
