Dún Órga showhouse boosts sales

A NEW showhouse opened at the Dunmanway, West Cork development Dún Órga over Easter weekend, with sales now expected to increase even more.

Murrayford/CFM Developments have about three dozen houses here in total, and phase two is now on offer via joint agents Lehanes, locally, and Hamilton Osborne King in Cork city.

They say buying profile is locally-grounded, meeting local demand with some limited investor take-up as well.

And, while prices are a bit of a step-up from other smaller new home schemes in the area, the houses are all a good size, well above the average for new stock, notes Catherine McAuliffe of HOK.

The average floor area is over 1,300 sq ft for a three bed mid-terrace town-house, priced at €255,000, while a four-bed of the same approximate area is €275,000. Go for end-of-terrace houses and the three beds are €265,000, and four-beds weigh in at €280,000.

There are seven house types in all and “as they are larger than your standard 1,000 sq ft house, they could attract purchasers from areas closer to the city centre who cannot afford to buy in more expensive markets,” say HOK. Dún Órga is close to the town of Dunmanway and its lake, about an hour from Cork city.
