Why not become the king of the castle at Gleann na Rí in Tower

A PERFECT package for trader-uppers is on offer at Gleann na Rí Avenue in Tower, Co Cork.

This detached house has plenty of room and it comes with attractive fittings and needs no extra investment.

The gardens are a case in point - not only are they laid out in lovely beds, but they are finished with stones walls, winding paths and a sunny patio area. Tall trees provide lots of privacy at the rear and there’s a garden shed thrown in for good measure.

The green-fingered touch is brought indoors too, with lush greenery making up part of the furniture in the kitchen.

This is a decent, family-sized space that comes with high quality birch units topped off with black granite worktop and an under sunk sink.

From here there is access to a study or den, this is simply furnished and there’s more than enough room for office paraphernalia, with space left over for a couch or two.

The main living room is well proportioned with a central fireplace, (pine and cast iron) and a deep bay window overlooking a large green.

This room is carpeted while the den has maple flooring and the kitchen is tiled in slate.

The ground floor toilet is just off the hallway.

The upper floor should have four bedrooms, but the plans were modified by the vendors during construction to provide one large bedroom running along the front of the house.

This room has a fresh lilac scheme, offset with pine fittings and an en suite is included.

The two other bedrooms are doubles and one is used as a gym at the moment: both rooms share a full bathroom.

The Gleann na Rí estate doesn’t look very run of the mill: the use of green, painted fascia boards and Rational windows mark it out from other developments.

Now that it’s owners are settling in, there is the odd touch of individuality here and there with different colour schemes sneaking in.

While the attractive pine windows and doors are low maintenance, the rear of the properties are in white PVC, making them easier to keep.

Set in the village of Tower and mid-way to Blarney, this is still an area that has a country feel, but is just a ten minute drive to town in good traffic. For a growing family, it offers the best of both worlds.
