Prince needed to wake up neglected sleeping beauty of a property
‘Riversdale’ in Lackenroe, Glounthaune, Co Cork, is just clear of legal entanglements and is to go to auction on Friday, May 21, through Anthony O’Regan of Keane Mahony Smith. A two-bedroomed bungalow, it has just under two acres of ground in one of the fastest rising areas of the city.
Mr O’Regan expects huge interest in the sale and is giving a reserve of €300,000 on the property.
Overgrown and neglected, the agents couldn’t actually find the house after receiving his instructions. It took a team with chainsaws, pick axes and the like to uncover the driveway and the roof tiles were the only part of the property visible from the boundary.
A real sleeping beauty.
The house was probably built in the 60’s, he says, and has a lot of timber effects internally.
Despite having just two bedrooms, it runs to 1,200 square feet and could be amalgamated into a larger property, he suggests.
Most likely, this house which had very attractive grounds in its day, will be demolished and replaced by a larger dwelling.
