FORTY three new Cork city houses aimed at qualifying ‘affordable’ category buyers are to be offered early in the New Year, bringing cheer to some lucky buyers.

The Shanbally Housing Association has been charged by Cork City Council with allocating 32 houses for private buyers, as well as 11 homes for elderly people at Rope Walk, in Blackrock village.

According to Billy Lewis, the new Chief Operations Officer of the Shanbally Association (and a previous senior manager with First Active/First National): “Over the next few weeks we expect to be processing application for allocation of houses at Buckley’s meadow, with a scheme of 32 one, two and three bedroom affordable homes and a further 11 detached bungalows for the elderly under the Social Housing scheme.”
