‘Never to be repeated opportunity’ as exclusive 0.45-acre sites go on sale

HOME to beauty — that’s what’s on offer at the Ross Road, Killarney, this week where four exclusive sites hit the market at €500,000 apiece.

Killarney Race Company, are selling these half acre portions of rare development land and expect the proto-enclave to be the most exclusive in the Kerry town.

Situated on the Ross Road, each 0.45-acre site comes with outline planning for a storey-and-a-half dwelling of 250 square metres. The size and site cost means new houses here will top the million euro mark and the rarity value should also add a premium to the finished product.

Despite having to go to An Bord Pleanala for adjudication, this development has recently been given the go-ahead and is effectively, part of an overall estate of 96 acres, says selling agent, John Buckley.

The house sites are on the boundary of the racecourse which in turn runs around the perimeter of the Ross Golf Course. The estate is also sited on the River Flesk side of the course and will have views over the McGillicuddy Reek mountains and the golf course.

It would be fair to say that when completed, these properties will have one of the best settings in the country amidst parkland running down to the Lakes of Killarney.

Killarney town, with a great range of shops, is a five-minute drive away and according to Mr Buckley, the Ross Road is now one of the better addresses in the town.

He adds that this sale is a “never to be repeated opportunity.” And with planning permission becoming stricter he’s probably right.
