Meticulous attention to stunning detail

WHEN it comes to houses in the Westbury Estate in Wilton, Cork, you get very high square footage per euro, says estate agent Barry Smith, who’s selling what he describes as a ‘stunning’ house in the estate.

Built by O’Flynn Construction about 25 years ago, he’s never seen a house here fail an engineer’s report, he adds, and says the area has now matured nicely, with a high proportion of owner occupiers.

Number 70 Westbury is on the market at €285,000 and within a week of being on sale is under offer at €280,000, mostly from first-time buyers, says Mr Smith.

In perfect condition, the attention to detail not only extends to the light fittings, but the basic layout has been modified to make the property more user-friendly, says Mr Smith.

Good wooden floors run through the hallway and living room and the kitchen has solid maple units and a cast-iron fireplace in the dining end. Double doors connect to the living room and at the other end is the utility with access to the back garden.

The final room on the ground floor is the study or fourth bedroom. Two of the three bedrooms on the upper floor have modern, built-in wardrobes and the main bathroom includes separate shower.
