Room for luxury in one-off suburban home

BALLYBURDEN is a quiet little townland just outside Ballincollig in Co Cork, where one-off houses - the bane of An Taisce’s existence - are always in demand.

Room for luxury in one-off suburban home

Brooklodge is one such house. It’s a three/four-bed dormer in Ballyburden and it’s for sale with Norma Healy of Sherry FitzGerald for offers in the region of €670,000.

Big houses don’t come cheap these days and Brooklodge is set on an acre site, with its own stream boundary and is fully finished.

Extras include a pressurised and thermostatically-controlled heating system, an alarm with panic buttons, sensor lighting and two full bedroom suites. This means the house at present has three, rather than four bedrooms. But, for the smaller family, the added luxury might be worth the room loss.

The open-plan living room, kitchen and conservatory makes for a bright sweep of accommodation on the ground floor and fittings are top quality, says Ms Healy. There’s also a formal lounge and family room.
