THE market for good family homes north of Lee in Cork has been evidenced in recent weeks with a spectacular house sale just under €2.2 million.

Pristine and period Sunville, which hit the Cork property market in Spring guiding €1.8 million with auctioneers Woodwards, ending up fetching €2.15 million for its 7,000 sq ft of enviable splendour up in St Luke’s Cross.

Sailing into a slightly less rarified price level, just off to the east along Cork’s northern shoulder of hill is the Tivoli home Treetops.

The aptly-named home at the top of Woodhill in Cork’s Tivoli was built in 1938 for the Dwyer family and is on a pride of place acre at the top of this chic cul de sac.

The 3,500 sq ft home has a €1.4 million guide price with its joint agents, Dennis Guerin of Frank V Murphy auctioneers, and Sheila O’Flynn of Sherry FitzGerald, who point up as key selling points its southerly elevated aspect, with views over the Marina, its acre of gardens which include a tennis court, its internal space and more than a fair measure of charm.

Practically all of the main rooms have a southerly aspect, and there’s two bay windows thrown into the bargain, one of them two-storey.
