Townhouses spark interest

DICK BARRY & Co of Fermoy are expecting a lot of interest in a new development of townhouses at Glen Cairn in Rathcormac, Co Cork.

Work has just started on the project which involves a total of 12 houses. This includes 10 mid-terraced properties, each costing €157,500 and two end-of-terrace ones for €160,500.

Each will have a floor area of 1,030 sq ft, which auctioneer Michael Barry says is a bit larger than the average townhouse. Accommodation will include a living room, dining room, a kitchen, a bathroom and three bedrooms, including one with an ensuite shower. Features will include PVC windows, oil fired central heating, landscaped gardens and a parking space.

“This development represents very good value for money. Rathcormac is around 15 miles from Cork or half an hour’s drive. There’s not much available at this price within commuting distance from the city and we expect them to sell very fast,’’ said Mr Barry, adding that five have already been sold from the plans. The Glen Cairn development is expected to be completed by early next January.
