Letter to the Editor: Fact-free dog-whistling opportunism of Verona Murphy

In some quarters of the media, it has been said that Verona Murphy is only saying what a lot of people think.
Give me a break. She ran a chaotic dog-whistling campaign, got beat, and got de-selected.
Why was she de-selected?
Um, let me think, Iâm racking my brain.
Was it for suggesting that children emigrating to Ireland are indoctrinated by Isis? Oo, um, yes maybe that might have been part of it.
Calling Verona Murphy a racist is an insult to racism.
In the immortal words of the Big Lebowski: âSay what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least itâs an ethos.â
Verona Murphy was rejected by the people of Wexford and subsequently got de-selected by Fine Gael because Verona Murphy is a clashing cymbal of boundless irrationality, immunity to reality, and tone-deaf Olympic eejitry.
Her political âthoughtâ is a kind of pointless plankton compared to the modern political Orcas of racism. I sincerely hope that the people of Wexford will continue to recognise vague, unprincipled, self-obsessed political opportunism when they see it.
I reckon they have more sense than to fall for this kind of obnoxious âyou have your facts and I can have mine â so anything goesâ travesty that is Verona Murphyâs political âofferingâ to the people of Wexford.
No flies on Wexford. They saw talent in Mick Wallace.
He took on An Garda SĂochĂĄna when we needed someone to do it. I think they will see Verona Murphy for the âfact-freeâ dog-whistler that she is.
