In response to Emilie Michael’s reply to my letter of December 14. I thank her for acknowledging that my statements were factual. However, I am at variance with her assumption that this earth is reaching the end of its sustainable existence because of its rising population.

There are 195 countries in this world — 3.97bn live in just seven of them. China, India and the USA have the bulk of these and still have areas that sparsely populated — 3.6bn are shared by the rest. It has also been recently reported that the population is declining although the elderly population continues to grow.
