Letter to the Editor: Vote yes to reduce conflict

Tomorrow, there will be a referendum to change the constitutional provisions regulating divorce in Ireland. The proposed changes are:
1. The requirement that the spouses must be living separate and apart for a period of at least four years during the previous five years be removed from the constitution. Instead, the minimum living apart period will be decided by the Oireachtas. The Government have published a bill which they intend to introduce if the referendum is successful which will change the living apart period to two years out of the previous three years.
