As someone who has a greater affinity to Pagan Ireland than to Catholic Ireland, I find it bizarre that there is a new campaign coming from government quarters suggesting that Catholic hospitals in receipt of public funds should remove religious symbols if they are asked to by patients.

As someone who has a greater affinity to Pagan Ireland than to Catholic Ireland, I find it bizarre that there is a new campaign coming from government quarters suggesting that Catholic hospitals in receipt of public funds should remove religious symbols if they are asked to by patients.

The fact that Catholic organisations are providing an infrastructure for our health service should be welcomed.
