Readers' Blog: Irish Examiner reunited two old friends

Thank you to the staff at the Irish Examiner, for helping me locate my old friend, Gerald West, from Co Cork.
I wrote to the Examiner because, when I lived in Cork, in 1972, the Examiner was our regular newspaper. That’s why I thought that if the Irish Examiner wrote about my quest, Gerry would read it.
How happy I am to have made that decision, because a number of your readers showed Gerry the piece you printed.
I owe you a great debt of gratitude; you have made two old friends extremely happy. Last night, Ger and I spoke on the phone for a long time. It was such a joyous occasion, with the both of us in awe of just how quickly the Examiner had hooked us up.
I cannot express my gratitude enough. God bless you for the fantastic job you have done for me.
I would also like to thank your readers, without whose intervention this might not have been possible.
Bless you all.
