Is it any wonder that, one after the other, the ministers appointed to negotiate the Brexit deal on behalf of the UK, have jumped ship once they realised late in the day that the deal was not going to be — as Liam Fox, the business secretary predicted back then — “one of the easiest deals to conclude” (in Britain’s favour naturally) ever.
