Our biggest challenge in tackling climate change is that we have weak democracies ‘Government ‘not doing enough’ on climate change’, (Irish Examiner, October 9).
The deregulatory, monetarist policies first implemented by Reagan and Thatcher in the 1980s have led to Big Money getting too big, to the point where its transnational power now eclipses that of democratically-elected politicians.
