Could the future invention of electric, self-driving, internally quiet sleeping cars solve what your editorial (Irish Examiner, August 6) describes as the “hamster-wheel commuting” problem that people who live in places like Belfast and Portlaoise endure daily in trying to get to work in Dublin.

Just imagine people going to bed at 11pm, in a large car that is attached to their house, like an extra room.
