Ireland is a nett contributor to the EU and when the UK leaves the union, Ireland will be forced to pay more. That’s a given while Leo Varadkar is Taoiseach, having made that committed during his recent EU Parliament speech.

There’s a strong case for an Irexit. Leaving the EU, Ireland will get its hard-won sovereignty back, get its wealth back by repossessing its natural resources, fisheries and sub-terrain assets. The hundreds of millions being sent to Brussels could be used to repatriate the many having had recourse to emigrate, to solve the health service and housing crises.
