With the date of the referendum fixed I assume letters to you will intensify from both sides of the debate. Having read several it is obvious that most do not know what it was like in England before abortion was legalised.
In 1942 I was an aspiring lab technician in West Middlesex Hospital, at that time the second-largest hospital in the country, and the Queen Mary Maternity hospital was in its grounds.
