It’s time for all IRA killers to come clean

IN the light of the recent murder of Robert McCartney and others by the IRA, and of the calls from family members and IRA/SF for IRA killers to come forward and admit to these heinous deaths, terrorist victims in West Tyrone are now asking ...

... that the IRA army council demands that all killers within their organisation be required to do the same.

IRA leaders are so profoundly embarrassed by the McCartney murder that they have acted as they have done; but the victims of the thousands of murders and injuries carried out by this same ‘murder machine’ also require full and honest acknowledgement.

If the IRA’s remorse is sincere, and if IRA murderers are sincere in their desire for peace, let them give themselves up to the courts. Victims want these perceived “brave soldiers of Ireland” to be soldierly and take full responsibility for their war crimes.

If this is what it takes to bring peace to our shores and to our people, then sincere people will be prepared to do it.
