What do I do to have my rubbish collected?
I purchased two rubbish tags last Monday and paid €8 for them. I placed one on my rubbish bag on Tuesday morning and left it in the usual place.
When I came home from work, the bag was on my doorstep. I thought they might have changed the day for collection and have watched out every day in an effort to get my rubbish collected.
I then asked a neighbour if the date for collection of rubbish had been changed and I found I have to order a wheelie bin. By the time I get this, there will be three weeks' rubbish, and I am still down €8.
I live in a terraced house, which is new, and which the County Council gave planning permission for. It has six large steps up to the front door and two to the back patio.
How do they expect me to operate the wheelie bin system? Am I to leave the bin outside my front door for everybody to dump rubbish in it? I understand that I then must pay by weight so when strangers dump rubbish in my bin, must I pay for their rubbish to be collected?
Had the council implemented this properly, all the rubbish tags would have been collected from the shops and we would have been informed. I have no way of finding out about your new schemes unless you tell me.
It is hardly surprising that when I go for my walk each day, I find sacks of rubbish strewn over the countryside.
