I TOOK a family break over Easter, travelling around the country. It was odd to see people gathered for a smoke outside pubs in the villages we passed through.

They are taking us for granted

It was appalling to see wall-mounted ashtrays at the entrance to every hotel.

We were lucky when we were asked to leave the bar at 9am because of the children, lucky in that we could afford a hotel and could therefore go to the foyer. No public representative I voted for requested my views before introducing these laws.
