Ryanair attack ad was reprehensible
SIPTU represents the interests of its members, which is its function and indeed its democratic right.
That Ryanair should spend thousands of euro in an attempt to demean SIPTU is reprehensible and is reminiscent of the behaviour of employers towards trade union members at the beginning of the last century.
Surely that money would be better spent reducing fares charged by Ryanair. Perhaps their ‘low fares’ are more profitable than passengers realise.
Trade unions are one of the social partners who have done so much to restore Ireland’s economy, to Ryanair’s benefit.
As a trade union member (not SIPTU) I believe all fellow trade unionists should treat Ryanair with the contempt they’ve shown us, and we should spend our money with other carriers.
