KERRY County Council is very foolish to spend €1,000 an hour for a helicopter to watch illegal dumping at Killarney Park.

And all of this while Killarney was struggling to fund this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade.

Instead of spinning a helicopter or two all day in the sky, why not end this nonsense and spend the money on some worthy projects on the ground?

For example, if one euro is given to Kerry General Hospital for every hour this helicopter is in the air, just look at how many patients could be treated.

I can understand a rescue service helicopter, but this is a complete waste.
