Abstinence and the illusion of safe sex
Recently I received my regular reminder from the Irish Blood Transfusion Service to donate blood. I notice that the 13 criteria concerning transmissible infections under which a donor must not give blood “apply even if a condom or other protective was used.”
It seems that ‘safe sex’ isn’t really all that safe.
Are our health promotion units aware of this?
