Laughter certainly not the best medicine

OUR health service appears to believe that laughter is the best medicine - but it’s not working.

Laughter certainly not the best medicine

Although hundreds of people are laughing at this miserable illness service, it’s not making many people better.

I read recently that the health service is about to commence another review, this time of hospital beds. Does it have no normal management-reporting structures in place at all that it keeps having to review things?

Last week, a top doctor said the health council and the public have the same objectives. Talk about fatuous.

The health council/service/executive/whatever all have diametrically opposed objectives to the general public. We wish to stay healthy or, if we’re unlucky enough to become ill, get cured as quickly as possible. Their objective is to earn a small fortune from treating our increasing illnesses. That is why the hospital situation is getting worse all the time - because this laughable ministry is 99% treatment and 1% prevention or cure.
